What's new in MiruXR 2.2.2 for Android
Version 2.2.2 brings head tracking to phones and setups where it didn't work. If you are coming from an older version, what 2.2.1 and 2.2.0 brought is further down.
AndroidFixed in 2.2.2
Section titled "Fixed in 2.2.2"- Head tracking on phones that never connected the glasses' sensors. Several Samsung phones on Android 17 (Galaxy S25 Ultra, S23 Ultra, Z Fold 7) showed the picture with XREAL One Series glasses, but nothing followed your head. MiruXR now connects to the sensors by itself, so head tracking should work on these phones. The first time, MiruXR may ask for access to the glasses over USB: allow it.
- Head tracking with a VPN or ad blocker on. Tailscale, AdGuard and similar apps no longer block the glasses' sensors, so you don't need to exclude MiruXR or turn them off. See Head tracking problems.
- Closing a video no longer freezes MiruXR, even when the video comes from a slow network source.
- Reports tell us more. The report you send now includes your glasses' firmware, your VR setup and your controllers, so we can help you faster. See Report a problem.
Fixed in 2.2.1
Section titled "Fixed in 2.2.1"- The Deck no longer freezes MiruXR when your phone has many apps installed.
- Using a controller no longer makes Android say MiruXR isn't responding.
- Google sign-in works. YouTube, Gmail and other Google services no longer say "This browser or app may not be secure" in the glasses.
- Web forms work in the glasses. Dropdown lists, dates, times, months, weeks and colors open right on the page. Before, nothing appeared, and a dropdown in the HUD could close MiruXR.
- You see what websites ask you. When a page asks you to confirm something, like "Delete this file?", the question shows up in the glasses and you choose. Before, the page got "Cancel" without asking you.
- Upload files to websites. The file picker opens on your phone, and the glasses tell you to choose there.
- The glasses keyboard: a tap between two keys types the closest one instead of closing the keyboard, and the address bar above it no longer cuts off the bottom of the text.
- Typing in an Android app in the glasses no longer brings up your phone's keyboard.
- Web windows in the HUD after a reconnect. If the glasses disconnect and come back, a web window in the HUD keeps its size instead of shrinking, and selecting text in it no longer closes MiruXR.
- 6DoF with your phone: without Google Play Services for AR, the row now tells you to install it and opens it on Google Play, instead of disappearing. See Move in games with your phone on your chest.
Version 2.2.0
Section titled "Version 2.2.0"Version 2.2.0 brings VR games to your glasses: they can now be the VR headset for VR games on your Android phone. Here is what you get.
VR games on your glasses
Section titled "VR games on your glasses"MiruXR can now work as the headset for VR games on your Android phone. Choose MiruXR once in the free OpenXR Runtime Broker app, open a VR game, and it shows in your glasses and follows your head. With XREAL One Series glasses, games switch to 3D by themselves. It is new and still experimental.

Controllers become your hands
Section titled "Controllers become your hands"Joy-Con, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch Pro controllers become your hands in the game. Each Joy-Con is one hand, and controllers with motion sensors aim when you move them. No controller? Hold your phone sideways and it becomes one. The Joy-Con 2 from the Switch 2 also work, and the new Controllers tab in the glasses shows your controllers, their battery and which one is in use.
Before each game, a short calibration keeps your hands from drifting.
A guide in the glasses
Section titled "A guide in the glasses"First steps in VR takes you from connecting a controller to playing, step by step, and every step checks itself off. The first time you play, How to play shows the real buttons of your controller for that game.
Move in games with the XREAL Eye (Beta)
Section titled "Move in games with the XREAL Eye (Beta)"With the XREAL Eye on your XREAL One glasses, you can lean, crouch and take steps in VR games. It is in Beta.

Move in games with your phone on your chest (Beta)
Section titled "Move in games with your phone on your chest (Beta)"No XREAL Eye? Wear your Android phone on your chest: its camera lets you lean, crouch and take steps in VR games, with XREAL glasses that have head tracking on Android. It is in Beta.

Your GameNative games in the Deck
Section titled "Your GameNative games in the Deck"If you play Steam games with the free GameNative app, your games now show in the Android section of the Deck, with their covers. VR games, like Beat Saber, open in VR. A short guide in the glasses helps you connect GameNative once.
Use MiruXR with a controller
Section titled "Use MiruXR with a controller"On Android 15 or newer, with Android apps set up, a controller can move the MiruXR cursor everywhere, even with the phone screen off.
Back and Center from the phone
Section titled "Back and Center from the phone"The controller on your phone now has Back and Center. Back goes one step back in the glasses: a panel, the keyboard, a page or an app. Center brings your windows in front of you without looking for the strip. They only show up when they have something to do, and the phone's back gesture works like Back.
Use your phone as the controller
Better 3D
Section titled "Better 3D"- The interface has depth. In 3D, the strip, the panels and the cursor float a little in front of your windows. The depth you choose on the 3D badge moves them too, and 2D flattens them.
- Gallery videos in 3D. Videos from your phone can now play in 3D, with depth added by MiruXR: tap the 3D badge on the video in Space, or the 3D button in its controls in Theater.
- Turning 2D into 3D looks better: steadier depth, cleaner edges around people and objects, and the same depth on any glasses.
Also new
Section titled "Also new"- Clearer notice when the glasses connect without sensors. It tells you what to do (flip the USB-C plug), shrinks to a small icon after you read it, and has Send report to send us a report right from the glasses. See No head tracking.
- MiruXR no longer changes the Anchor or Follow mode of your XREAL One. The glasses keep the mode you choose with their own button.
- Steadier head tracking from the start. MiruXR remembers what it learned about your glasses, so the next time you connect them they drift less in the first minutes.
- Glasses from other brands, experimental. If their motion sensors don't respond, they still work as a screen. See Compatible glasses.
- Turn off just the phone screen. On the controller screen, the moon button (Turn off phone screen) turns off the phone screen while the glasses keep going. To turn it back on, lock and unlock the phone.
- Spatial opens in the free Space when your glasses can follow your head. Screen is still one tap away on the strip.
- Your controller moves the VR controllers by default in every game, and the Joy-Con 2 now work in any VR game.
- Animations setting. Turn off the movement in the glasses (the floating Deck, sliding pages) in the settings panel, on the General tab. MiruXR also follows Android's Remove animations setting.
- Record from the strip. The record button now sits on the strip, recordings go to your phone's gallery, and the video is smoother. With the XREAL Eye, the recording can also show the room around your windows. See Record the glasses view.
- XREAL One Pro+ is recognized as part of the One series. It hasn't been tested with these glasses yet.
- Open-source licenses are listed in About MiruXR.
- Head tracking with XREAL One glasses on more phones. Some phones didn't open the connection to the glasses' sensors on their own, or needed you to accept a USB permission first. MiruXR now asks Android for it.
- Samsung phones: MiruXR no longer closes when DeX starts with the glasses plugged in.
- Android apps: taps now reach apps that ignored them, like some file pickers.
