Record the glasses view
You can record a video of what you see in the glasses: your windows, the HUD, the background and even a VR game. The video goes to your phone's gallery, ready to share.
iPhoneAndroidRecord from the phone
Section titled "Record from the phone"- On the controller, tap the screen icon with the red dot, at the top left next to the settings button.
- While it records, the trackpad shows Recording and the time. The trackpad keeps working as usual.
- Tap the same icon again to stop.
- MiruXR saves the video to your gallery. The first time, the phone asks for access to your photos: allow it. For a few seconds the controller shows a Share button to send the video right away.
There is no time limit. Long videos take a lot of space on the phone.
Record from the glasses
Section titled "Record from the glasses"- Tap the record button (a circle) on the strip. It is on the strip of the HUD, of Spatial, and of a VR game.
- While it records, the button turns red and a red dot shows next to the time. The red dot does not appear in the video.
- Tap the button again to stop. The glasses show Video saved to your gallery.
You can also start on the glasses and stop on the phone, or the other way around.
On iPhone, the record button on the strip does not record. Start and stop from the phone.
What the video shows
Section titled "What the video shows"- What you see in the glasses: windows, widgets, the background environment or the VR game.
- The video has no sound.
- Protected video, for example from streaming services, can come out black in the recording.
- On Android, if you record in 3D, the video shows the view of one eye, as a normal flat video.
Add the camera view (XREAL Eye)
Section titled "Add the camera view (XREAL Eye)"The glasses are see-through, so a normal recording shows your windows on black. With an XREAL Eye attached, the video can also show the room behind them, the way you see it.
- Open the settings panel in the glasses (the sliders button on the strip) and go to the VR tab.
- Turn on Also record what you see.
- The first time you record with it, the phone asks for the camera. The glasses show Check your phone: allow the camera to record what you see. Allow it. If you don't, MiruXR records without the camera.
The camera turns on only for the video. You keep seeing the real room through the glasses, as always.
In VR games with 6DoF
Section titled "In VR games with 6DoF"When you move around in a game with the XREAL Eye (see 6DoF with the Eye), the Eye is busy following you:
- Start the recording before you open the game. If you start it during the game, MiruXR says Recording without the camera: to include it, start recording before opening the game.
- Recording with the camera during a game is experimental. MiruXR says Recording with the camera during a game is experimental: the scene may drift. If the scene moves, stop the recording, or turn off Also record what you see and record without the camera.
If it doesn't record
Section titled "If it doesn't record"- The phone shows Recording error, or the glasses show Couldn't record: check that the glasses are connected, then try again.
- The video is not in the gallery: check that MiruXR can access your photos in the phone's settings.
