What you need

MiruXR is a free app for iPhone and Android. It turns XREAL glasses into big floating screens: a cinema, a web browser, your own videos and, on Android, your phone's apps and VR games. There are no ads and no subscriptions.

  1. XREAL glasses. The XREAL One, One Pro and 1S get every feature. The Air series and the XBX A01 also work, with some limits. See Supported glasses.

  2. A phone that sends video over USB-C.

A phone whose USB-C port can send video (this is called DisplayPort Alt Mode). Not every Android phone can. See Phones.

  3. The cable that came with your glasses. Plug the glasses straight into the phone.

  4. The MiruXR app, from the App Store or Google Play.

  • Internet, for the browser and streaming services. Videos stored on your phone play without it.
  • The XREAL Eye, the camera that clips onto the One series. It lets you see the room behind your windows and, on Android, move around in VR games (Beta). See Environments and 6DoF with the Eye.
  • A Bluetooth game controller, for VR games on Android. See VR controllers.
  • A Bluetooth mouse, if you prefer it to the phone's trackpad. See Mouse and gamepads.
