Type text

You can type in two ways: with your phone keyboard, or with a keyboard that floats in the glasses, where you point at the keys. Either way, the text goes straight into the field you selected in the glasses.

  1. In the glasses, aim at a text field and tap to select it.
  2. On the controller, tap Keyboard.
  3. Type. The text appears in the glasses, not on the phone.

If the glasses keyboard is turned off, the phone keyboard opens by itself when you select a field. It matches the field: numbers for a number, the email keyboard for an email, and so on. When you type a web address on the phone, the glasses show what you are typing.

On iPhone, the bar above the keyboard has Done to close it. iPhone

  1. In the glasses, aim at a text field and tap. The glasses keyboard opens.
  2. Aim at each key and tap the phone.

To turn it on or off: open the settings in the glasses, go to the General tab and use Keyboard on the glasses. The Keyboard button on the phone still works at any time.

The glasses keyboard follows the app language:

Language What you get
English The usual layout
Spanish Adds the ñ and an accent key: tap the accent, then the vowel
Korean The standard two-set layout. Syllables are built as you type
Japanese, Chinese They need a keyboard that converts what you type, so MiruXR always uses the phone keyboard

Other app languages use the English layout. Numbers and symbols are on their own pages of the keyboard.

Some Android apps don't tell MiruXR that you selected a text field, so no keyboard opens. In that case, tap the keyboard button on the window's bar. See Use Android apps.

Password managers cannot fill in passwords inside the glasses. Type them with the phone keyboard. See Sign in to websites.
