Play a VR game
This is what you do every time you play. If this is your first game, do Set up VR games first.
AndroidOpen the game
Section titled "Open the game"- Connect your glasses and open MiruXR.
- Turn on your controller, if you use one.
- Open the Deck, choose the Android section and tap the game.
The game opens in your glasses. XREAL One Series glasses switch to 3D by themselves, and go back to 2D when the game closes. While the game is open, it has the sound: other video and music apps pause.
You can also open the game on the phone. Then MiruXR shows a notification called Playing on the glasses with a Center button, because the phone screen belongs to the game.
Before you play
Section titled "Before you play"Each time a game opens and your controllers have motion sensors, MiruXR shows Before you play over the game. It takes a few seconds and keeps your hands from drifting while you play.
- Set your controllers down: leave the controllers still on a table for a few seconds. Each ring fills and turns green.
- Joy-Con 2 only: draw a circle with the tip of the controller, moving only your wrist. Then MiruXR asks you to turn the buttons to the left and draw the circle again, and then to the right. Do it away from the phone and metal things. You can choose Skip this controller.
- Point your controllers ahead: look ahead and point each controller at something fixed, the way you will play, and pull its trigger.
Then the game continues by itself. If you use 6DoF with the XREAL Eye or your phone (Beta), its steps come first.
How to play
Section titled "How to play"The first time you open a game, MiruXR shows How to play over it: who your hands are (for example, one Joy-Con in each hand) and what each button of your controller does in the game. Close it with Keep playing, with B, or with the center button of your controller.
To see it again, open the VR tab in the glasses and choose the How to play row (it appears there after you finish First steps in VR). On the phone, Show the guides again in MiruXR's Settings makes it appear again in your next game.
Center the view
Section titled "Center the view"Center brings everything back in front of you: whatever is in front of you becomes forward, for the view and for your hands. Use it when you sit down, turn your chair, or when something has drifted.
- With a controller: hold the center button for a moment. It is the PS button, the Xbox button or Home. On a left Joy-Con alone, it is Capture.
- With the phone as the controller: hold the house button in the middle of the phone.
- From the strip: tap the center button once (or tap the phone screen) and choose Center.
- If you opened the game on the phone: use Center in the MiruXR notification.
If you have not centered for a while and something looks off, MiruXR reminds you which button to hold.
The strip during a game
Section titled "The strip during a game"During a game, MiruXR hides everything except a strip at the top, and only when you call it. To show it, tap the center button of your controller once, or tap the phone screen. The strip has Center, a button for the VR settings and the exit button.
While the strip is visible, the game sees your controllers still. Move along the strip with left and right, press A to choose, and B to close it.
The phone during a game
Section titled "The phone during a game"- If you play with the phone: hold it sideways. It becomes a controller with two sticks, buttons and triggers. The sticks appear where you put your thumbs, so you don't need to look. Move the phone to aim. Tap the house for the strip, hold it to center.
- If you play with a physical controller: the phone shows which controller the game uses. Tap the phone screen to show the strip. Some games read a normal Android controller. For those, the phone shows Use it as with two choices: VR controllers or Regular controller. The one the game asks for is marked Recommended. MiruXR remembers your choice for each game.
Exit the game
Section titled "Exit the game"Show the strip and choose the exit button (the door with an arrow). The game closes and MiruXR comes back. You can also close the game like any Android app.
If the glasses disconnect
Section titled "If the glasses disconnect"If the cable comes loose during a game, the game keeps running and the phone shows a notice called Your glasses disconnected. Connect the glasses again and keep playing. If they don't come back within 5 minutes, the game closes.
